Yet another fast-moving storm brought rain to the region Saturday evening, with rain amounts totaling up to just over a quarter of an inch.
Like many of our storms so far this rainy season, this storm was a cold one supported by the polar jet stream - abnormal and uncommon during El Nino episodes. The duration of rainfall was short-lived, with most of the rain falling under one to two hours across the region before leaving. Snow levels fell to between 5500 and 6000 feet Saturday evening.
De Luz and Fallbrook led the way with 0.28 and 0.26 inches, respectively. Beaumont, San Bernardino and Temecula also exceeded 2/10 of an inch. WeatherCurrents contributors reported notable totals of 0.25 in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington), 0.21 in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas) and 0.19 inches in East San Jacinto (courtesy of Monty Parrott).
